The meaning of science according to Renan is given. Renan was a misunderstood personality because of his daring thoughts to the degree that he derives from it "the truth of Christianism". His science is stamped by the soul, is not reduced to the pure perception and he considers that while it is materialistic at its implementation, on the other hand it isn't at its principles and purpose.
