The speech is referred to the old preception as regards the shape of the Earth, that is the Earth was flat and to the later, on the basis of which the Earth was motionless at the centre of the Universe (geocentric system) and afterwards to the contestation of that system till the final preception of the heliocentric system, which finally prevailed. A detailed description of the geocentric system is made, as well as the desperate efforts of Aristarchos in order to impose the heliocentric system, are reported. Finally, the heliocentric system is described as Kopernikos formulated it.
