Fleming' s discovery of antibiotics forms the subject of the present lecture. A historic introduction in the anti-microbic medicines is cited. Then, the various kinds of antibiotics are reported as well as their practical application. Finally, the importance of this discovery is underlined; discovery which opens the ways towards other branches of the Medicine Science.

Γίνεται ιστορική εισαγωγή περί αντιμικροβιακών φαρμάκων, αναφέρονται τα ειδή των αντιβιοτικών, η πρακτική τους εφαρμογή και φυσικά τονίζεται η σπουδαιότητα της ανακάλυψης αυτής, η οποία ανοίγει δρόμους σε άλλους κλάδους της Ιατρικής επιστήμης.
