The present study is referred to the mosaic icon of St.Demetrius which is being kept at Civico Museum, in the italian city Sassoferato. After its description, there are reported aspects of historians and art historians that concerned its origin and the date of creation. Furthermore, there are cited documents related with the finding of the relics of St.Demetrius. Moreover, is cited the copy of the enactment of 1592, which is written in the italian language, according to which is decided the extension of the celebration of Saint to all the dominion of St.Lorenzo in Campo, on the 8th of October and particularly in Abbey. Finally, there are induced texts in italian language that are related with the finding of the relics on the 20th of June of 1520 as also the notorial out of 1779, in which is reported in detail the background of the relics.
Μελετάται η ψηφιδωτή εικόνα του Αγ.Δημητρίου η οποία φυλάσσεται στο μουσείο Civico, στην ιταλική πόλη Sassoferrato. Αφού γίνεται περιγραφή της αναφέρονται και γνώμες ιστορικών της τέχνης σχετικά με την προέλευση της και την χρονολογία της δημιουργίας της. Επίσης παρατίθενται έγγραφα σχετικά με την ανέρευση του λείψανου του Αγ.Δημητρίου και το αντίγραφο του θεσπίσματος του 1592, στην ιταλική γλώσσα, κατά το οποίο αποφασίζεται η επέκταση της γιορτής του Αγίου σε όλη την επικράτεια του S.Lorenzo in Campo, στις 8 Οκτωβρίου και αποκλειστικά στο Αββαείο. Τέλος, συμπεριλαμβάνονται κείμενα στην ιταλική γλώσσα σχετικά με την ανεύρεση των λειψάνων στις 20 Ιουνίου 1520 και συμβολαιογραφική πράξη του 1779 η οποία αναφέρει λεπτομερώς το ιστορικό των λειψάνων.
