The issue of the conference of 22nd January of 1981 was the French Archaelogical School of Athens because of statements published in French newspapers, on 7th and 8th of January of 1981, which referred to the restoration of French Schools located abroad. It is stressed out the importance of remaining the School indipendant and expressed worries from the speakers about what would become from its "restoration". Also, it is introduced the history of the French Archaelogical school and its work.
Θέμα της ομιλίας αυτής είναι η Γαλλική Αρχαιολογική Σχολή Αθηνών, με την ευκαιρία δηλώσεων που έγιναν και άρθρων σε γαλλικές εφημερίδες, στις 7 και 8 Ιανουαρίου 1981 για μελετούμενες "ανακαινίσεις" των Γαλλικών Σχολών του εξωτερικού. Γίνεται μια αναφορά στο έργο της Σχολής και τονίζεται η σημασία του να παραμένει αυτόνομη η Σχολή. Επίσης εκφράζονται επί του θέματος γνώμες και διατυπώνονται ανησυχίες και από άλλους ομιλητές.
