The study is referred to the geological texture and tectonic structure of the disaster area from the earthquakes of February-March 1981 at the Corinthian Golf. There are reported some elements which concern the characteristics and the mechanism of the origin of the earthquakes. Moreover is being studied the seismic superficial rupture in relation with the tectonics and the secondary phenomena of the earthquakes. Particularly is being emphasized the distribution of the damages and the formation of the seismic intensity in relation with the techno-geological conditions of the earthquake-striken area. Following are being analyzed and evaluated the parameters of four earthquakes whose consequences were tremendous.
Μελετάται η γεωλογική σύσταση και τεκτονική δομή ευρύτερης περιοχής που πλήγηκε από τους σεισμούς Φεβρουαρίου-Μαρτίου 1981 στον Κορινθιακό κόλπο. Αναφέρονται ορισμένα στοιχεία που αφορούν τα χαρακτηριστικά και το μηχανισμό γένεσης των σεισμών, μελετάται η σεισμογενής επιφανειακή διάρρηξη σε σχέση με την τεκτονική και τα δευτερογενή φαινόμενα των σεισμών. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δίνεται στην διανομή των βλαβών και στη διαμόρφωση της σεισμικής έντασης σε σχέση με τις τεχνογεωλογικές συνθήκες στην πλειόσειστη περιοχή και ακολουθεί ανάλυση και αξιολόγηση των παραμέτρων αυτών σε τέσσερις οικισμούς, όπου οι συνέπειες των σεισμών ήταν καταστροφικές.
