The stress is hereby studied at any point of a material line of catenary form, when one of the ends remains constant, and other moves on an horizontal straight line, passing through the constant end. The results are applied in an ordinary telegraph wire with given data and the corresponding graphs of stress are studied, by which graphical solutions of practical problems are affected.
