The subject of the study is the conditions under which the dolomitic deposits were created. Moreover, a detailed account is given which concerns the spreading of the most important dolomitic phase into the broader Greek area and the time limits of its appearance are determined. Furthermore, there are reported the ways, chemical and optical, for the recognision of the dolomites and of the dolomitic limestones, on the basis of which is judged whether the deposit enjoys economical interest. Besides, the most important dolomitic deposits in Greece and especially these in Northern Euboea, are described. Finally, it was made clear that the development of the dolomitic phase is catholic and mainly represents the deeper horizons of the Secondary era, in the broader greek geosyncline.
Αντικείμενο της μελέτης είναι οι συνθήκες γένεσης δολομιτικών κοιτασμάτων. Επίσης, δίνεται λεπτομερειακή αναφορά στην εξάπλωση της κυριότερης δολομιτικής φάσης εντός του ευρύτερου Ελληνικού χώρου και προσδιορίζονται τα χρονικά όρια εκδηλώσεώς της. Επίσης, αναφέρονται οι τρόποι, χημικοί και οπτικοί, για την αναγνώριση των δολομιτικών ασβεστολίθων, βάσει των οποίων κρίνεται εάν το κοίτασμα χαίρει οικονομικού ενδιαφέροντος. Ακόμη, περιγράφονται τα σπουδαιότερα δολομιτικά κοιτάσματα στην Ελλάδα και κυρίως αυτών της Βορείου Ευβοίας. Τελικά, διαφαίνεται ότι η ανάπτυξη της δολομιτικής φάσης είναι καθολική και αντιπροσωπεύει κυρίως τους βαθύτερους ορίζοντες του Μεσοζωικού, μέσα στο ευρύτερο ελληνικό γεωσύγκλινο.
