    • In this paper the beneficiation of the unaltered phosphate rocks of Kosmira, Epirus, by flotation is described. This work is a continuation of our earlier research on the flotation of the altered phosphate rocks of Epirus. The unaltered phosphate rock contained 14,70% P2O5 and was subjected to crushing and grinding to a fineness of 95%-by wt-100 mesh. The slimes so produced representing 33,7% by wt of the run-of-mine ore, and containing 14% P2O5 (30,3% of the original P2O5 content) were rejected. The remaining material was subjected to a flotation treatment whereby calcite was floated as follows: The ore was conditioned with orthophosphoric acid as PH conditioner, Reagent 710 of American Cyanamid as collector and Texapon K12 as frothing agent. The calcite was then floated under a pulp density of 20% solids. The floated material being 33,5% by wt of the run-of-nine ore and containing 3.76% P2O5 (8,2% of the original P2O5 content) was rejected. The rest, being 32,8% by wt of the run-of-mine ore and containing 29,19 8% P2O5 (61,5% of the original P2O5 content), represents the concentrate.
