Taking into consideration that changes of the lithological constitution of classic sediments may be established by geoelectrical survey, it was suggested that the application of the resistivity method will be useful to recognise indirectly changes of the natural phenomena intensity in the past, responsible for these lithological changes. In this paper the question is of changes concerning the velocity of running waters e.i. of rivers and torrents, due to geological reasons. The geoelectrical investigation has been carried out in the area, lying south of the dried lake Arjan, on nine prolifes parallel to the old lake axis and one perpendicular to the others
Η μελέτη αυτή αναφέρεται σε αποτελέσματα γεωηλεκτρικών ερευνών που έγιναν στα πλαίσια μελετών για αντιπλημμυρικά - αποχετευτικά έργα. Οι μελέτες αυτές αποσκοπούσαν κυρίως στη διερεύνηση της λιθολογικής σύστασης και στον καθορισμό του πάχους των κλαστικών υλικών του υπεδάφους της περιοχής τόσο κατά την οριζόντια, όσο και κατά την κατακόρυφο. Τα αποτελέσματα τηες γεωλογικής αυτής έρευνας αφορούν κυριώς την περιοχή ανατολικά του Πολυκάστρου - Κιλκίς όπου άλλοτε υπήρχε η πριν από πολλά χρόνια αποξηραθείσα λίμνη Αρτζάν.
