This study, in combination with the study of historical sources of the same writer proves that the name Volustana is attributed to the strait of Sarantapore, fact which is ascertained and in relevant studies of Heuzey.
From a relevant research arose that the real name was "Vallas strait", a name which arose by people who used to see the straits from south and from the fact that the way towards the strait used to pass often from Valla, which had and the instant guard of the strait.
Η μελέτη αυτή σε συνδυασμό με την μελέτη ιστορικών πηγών του ιδίου αποδεικνύει ότι η ονομασία Volustana αποδίδεται στο στενό του Σαραντοπόρου, γεγονός που εξακριβώνεται και σε αντίλογες μελέτες του Henzey.
Από τη σχετική έρευνα προκύπτει ότι το αληθινό όνομα ήταν "Βάλλης στενά", ονομασία η οποία προέκυψε απο ανθρώπους που έβλεπαν τα στενά από το νότο και από το γεγονός ότι η οδός προς το στενό περνούσε συχνά από την Βάλλα, η οποία είχε και την άμεση φύλαξη του στενού.
