The trend of atmospheric pollution in Athens is examined here. For this reason two stations have been selected. I. The University Student Club measurements as representative of a location with intense human activities. II. The measurements at the National Observatory as representative of the general microclimate situation of the city. This is because the instrument is situated in a height greater than the mean heighr of the around sources of sir pollution. The pollutant examinee is smoke I.e. suspended particulate matter of diameter <10m. The results are as follows: 1. At the Students Club the median value over a period of 24h from year to year and for the 5 years 1968-1972 is found to be 9.3mgr on the average. The greatest increase observed, 29.0mgr, is noted between 1969 and 1970. 2. The 24h median value from month to month at the students Club is 0.85 mgr on the average. 3. The measurements at the National Observatory for the 3-year period 1970-1972 show an average increase of the 24 h monthly median value equal to 0.2 mgr. This indicates an influence of the local sources of air pollution on the microclimatic conditions of the city as a whole.
Στην παρούσα εργασία εξετάζεται η τάση μεταβολής της ατμοσφαιρικής ρύπανσης σε δύο θέσεις, ήτοι στην Πανεπιστημιακή Λέσχη επί της διασταυρώσεως των οδών Ιπποκράτους και Ακαδημίας και στον λόφο των Νυμφών. Μετρήσεις της αιθάλης (σωματίδια διαμέτρου < 10μ περίπου) υπάρχουν σχεδόν ανελλιπείς για την πενταετία 1968-1972 στον πώτο και για την τριετία 1970-1972 στον δεύτερο σταθμό. Η σχετική ανάλυση έδωσε τα ακόλουθα συμπεράσματα: 1. Στον σταθμό της Πανεπιστημιακής Φοιτητικής Λέσχης, η μεσαία 24ωρος αύξηση από έτος σε έτος ανήλθε κατά την πενταετία 1968-1972 σε 9.3μgr περίπου κατά μέσο όρο. Η μέγιστη αύξηση παρατηρήθηκε από το 1969 εως το 1970 ανερχόμενη σε 29.0 μgr. 2. Η μεσαία 24ωρος αύξηση κατά μήνα ανήλθε σε 0.85 μgr στον σταθμό της Λέσχης. 3. Στον σταθμό του Λόφου των Νυμφών, όστις δεν αντιπροσωπεύει περιοχή έντονης ανθρώπινης δραστηριότητας σημειώθηκε μια αύξηση.
